ABOUT ME & MY REAL ESTATE BEGINNINGS
I was raised on a family farm in rural Nebraska. As a small-town kid, I played football and basketball, ran track, played in the band, performed in school plays, attended a lot of church and did plenty of chores. By graduation, my interests had narrowed in on the history of the American West and my passions were focused on Theatre. I attended Bethel College in Kansas until I had taken every class in my major. I then transferred to the University of Tulsa where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Performance as well as a History Minor. Shortly after graduation, California beckoned and I made the trek from Oklahoma to Los Angeles. To support my pursuit of acting, I worked in the box offices of the renowned Geffen Playhouse and Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A. Through these high-profile positions, I learned how personal, detail-oriented service is the cornerstone of a smooth client transaction.
An Interest in Real Estate Begins
While living in Los Angeles I had the good fortune to meet my future wife, Lisa, when we were both cast in the same play. We married in 2003, in Colorado Springs, to be closer to family for the ceremony. It must have been a sign because shortly thereafter, in 2005, we made the simultaneous decision to leave L.A. and move to Colorado! Having lived in California during its real estate boom years of the mid-2000s, I had developed a keen interest in the world of residential real estate. After my wife and I purchased our starter home near downtown Colorado Springs in 2006, my interest grew even stronger. I obtained my residential license and started practicing as a Realtor with RE/MAX in 2007.
Not one to back away from a challenge, I cut my teeth in real estate during the nationwide housing crisis of 2008. Those tough times taught me to value every client and every transaction equally and with gratitude. On the upswing, I’ve confirmed that even though market conditions may change radically, up or down, my core values remain at the center of my business and customer service is how I practice those values. Currently, Lisa and I are homeowners in the beautiful Northwest part of Colorado Springs, raising our two children and loving the quality of life here! We enjoy the abundant parks, restaurants and arts activities our city has to offer. We also love visiting the many marvelous towns and natural wonders that exist nearby in this beautiful state.
